VIVISECTFEST, international festival on cinema dedicated to the theme of human rights

 

For the first time in Italy, and in collaboration with Comala Association and Circoscrizione 3, the Mario Gromo Library/Mediatheque will host VIVISECTFEST, the international festival on cinema dedicated to the theme of human rights. Unseen films and documentaries, selected from the 7 previous editions of the international VIVISECT festival and screened in original language with subtitles in Italian, will be shown on Friday 14 December, starting from 2.30 p.m., in the events room at the Library/Mediatheque.

Third date for THE ICON AND THE MYTH. Three films with Marilyn Monroe showcase, with the film screening of Monkey business by Howard Hawks, Monday 17 December 2012 at 3.30 p.m., in the events room at the Library/Mediatheque. Introduced by: Mariella Lazzarin.

New rendez-vous for TALKS IN PROGRESS. Presentations of new books, dvd-s and readings, in the Library/Mediatheque events room, Wednesday 19 December 2012, at 8.30 p.m., with the book presentation of Il film in cui nuoto è una febbre. Registi fuori dagli scheRmi (The film I’m swimming in is a fever. Mould-breaking filmmakers beyond the frame) by curator Luigi Abiusi (Caratteri Mobili, 2012), a collection of ten critical essays analyzing ten directors. The meeting will be followed by the film screening of Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives by Apichatpong Weerasethakul.
